Am I going to get obsessed with it? Only time will tell.

Prayer flags in primary colours

Prayer flags in Bhutan, in primary colours or pure white, flutter in the cold winds of the mountains. For us, they served as motivator landmarks (let's reach the next group of flags and then take a five minute break) as we huffed and puffed our way to the 'Tiger's nest' monastery up the hill. For locals, it takes about an hour or so, but for us unfit, sedentary, city dwellers, it took more than two hours, mainly due to the uphill climb, but also because we kept stopping to take pictures of the breathtaking view from every angle.

Crayoning in Auroville (again!)

Whenever I go on a holiday, or a weekend trip, or sometimes even somewhere for a day, I carry my bulky sketchbook and big box of oil pastels, which more often than not, don't even get out of my bag. But this time when I went on a weekend trip to Auroville, between all the eating, meditating on a hammock, looking around and doing touristy things, and between doing office work on world's slowest internet dongle, I managed to sneak in a bit of crayon scribble time.

Now it has been ages since I have done any drawing, so obviously the results were crappy, but I did not let that stop me!

Anyway, it is good to be back on the blog, back in all the colourful action, and here's hoping it continues. :)

And of course, there were a few mandatory Instagram shots. I'm new to Instagram, a late and reluctant joiner, but I must say, I quite like it. (Except for the hashtag overload).

Hugo

Hugo Cabret: "I'd imagine the whole world was one big machine. Machines never come with any extra parts, you know. They always come with the exact amount they need. So I figured, if the entire world was one big machine, I couldn't be an extra part. I had to be here for some reason. And that means you have to be here for some reason, too."

Bouquets of Sharpened Pencils

"I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address. On the other hand, this not knowing has its charms."
From one of my all time favourite movies, You've Got Mail :-)

Sometimes I can trip on technology too

I was at a party last night and suddenly I had an idea for a dress. Desperate to sketch before I forget it, I downloaded an app for drawing. Oh how I love technology (sometimes)!! And then the tripping started :)

That is why you should sketch!

After not sketching for months together, I tried getting back to it on a brand new notebook. It took me almost an hour between Nigella's Kitchen and Project Runway and major overuse of the eraser to make a sad little "fashion drawing". More motivation to sketch!!
